Upper Kenai

Our Signature Trip

The Upper Kenai River Canyon Trip is the most wild and remote section of the Kenai. We begin each day at Sportsman’s Boat Launch/Russian River Ferry and descend nine and a half miles to Skilak Lake. This section of river is Drift Only. The canyon section offers anglers the chance at hooking Rainbows, Dolly Varden and Arctic Char. We also fish both runs of Reds and Silvers. The trip provides scenery that will take your breath away. You will also enjoy class 3 whitewater while hopefully fighting a huge rainbow. The braided sections of river make bank fishing extraordinary. At the end of the day, kick back and enjoy the glacial views as you cruise across Skilak Lake

Salmon Guide has one of the limited permits for the Upper Kenai River provided by the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
